Hario's Glass Rinse Assist holds the V60 paper in place while you rinse

The Hario Glass Rinse Assist, a V60 rinse assist tool, is a small glass weight you drop into a paper filter so it sits flat against the dripper while you pour the rinse water. Hario announced it on October 13, 2026, ahead of showing it at SCAJ 2026 in Tokyo, and put it on sale in its Japan web shop the next day.

What the V60 Rinse Assist does

A dry cone filter can lift off the wall or fold over when the rinse water hits it. Hario says the Rinse Assist presses the paper neatly against the inside of the dripper and supports the rinse. In Hario’s photos the weight sits in the bottom of the cone and the water is poured over and around it; a round knob on top gives you something to hold it by.

• Fits every V60 size. One piece works in the 01, 02 and 03 drippers, per the product page.
• Two colors. Clear and amber, both in heat-resistant glass.
• Compact. 58 × 58 × 72 mm, and 192 g with its box.

Price and availability

On Hario’s Japan web shop the Rinse Assist is ¥3,300 in clear and ¥3,520 in amber, with tax. (The product page itself shows ¥3,300 for both, but Hario’s SCAJ listing and the shop’s data give the higher amber price.) Both colors were sold out when we checked, with restock requests open by LINE or email. The shop ships within Japan only, and Hario hasn’t announced pricing for other regions.

Our take

It’s a pricey glass fix for a small annoyance, aimed at V60 owners who already have the rest of the kit. A wet finger does much the same job for free, so the case for it is tidiness and looks as much as function. Hario also showed the V60 NEO in unglazed ceramic at SCAJ 2026, among other pour-over ideas such as the Taster’s Coffee GX2 flat-bottom dripper.
