Timemore's Sculptor 064S II rebuilds everything but the burrs

Timemore has announced the Sculptor 064S II, also called the 064S Gen 2, the second generation of the 64mm flat-burr grinder it launched in 2022. The company says owner feedback was mostly about living with the machine, not the coffee, so it kept the burrs and redesigned nearly everything around them.

What’s new in the 064S Gen 2

• Tool-free burr access. The original needed standard disassembly with a screwdriver. With this toolless update, you pull off the grind dial and twist out the burr carrier. Timemore says the carrier has been optimized for alignment and maintaining settings as the carrier is removed for cleaning.

  

• Updated hopper. It’s taller with steeper walls, so beans feed instead of bouncing, and a shield reaches the corners to stop “popcorning.” It mounts magnetically, has a sliding lid, and the grinder won’t start without it. Timemore invites third-party and homemade slow-feed hoppers.

  

• One knob for power and speed. Speed control moves from the back to a front knob, with the power button in the center. The range is now 800–1600 RPM, extended from 1,200 max on the previous model. An illuminated ring shows status and flashes for jams or overheating, and the grinder stops on its own 15 seconds after the beans run out.

  

• Grind setting on top. The indicator moves to 12 o’clock so you can read it looking down. One turn still covers the full range in 16 marked steps, with stops at both ends.

  

Smaller changes: a catch cup shaped for 58mm portafilters, a rebuilt rotary knocker for clearing retained grounds, and a right-angle power cord that sits flat against the body.

What hasn’t changed

The 64mm burrs. The 064S II uses the same 064S set as before, optimized for body and milk drinks. A 064SSP II with SSP’s Multipurpose burrs, aimed at filter and light-roast espresso, follows in May 2027.

Price and availability

The 064S II is on pre-order for $429 USD, a “Super Early Bird” price against a $650 list price, with shipping expected in late February 2027. It comes in Obsidian Black and Arctic White. Timemore also just showed the Chestnut C6, a new hand grinder in its entry-level line.
